In February 2011 a literary marathon reading has been conducted in Lviv (a city in Western Ukraine), with writers reading their works in Ukrainian to oppose the idea of limiting the usage of Ukrainian language in the country. This video features Iryna’s inspired performance (starting with 05:30).
A month later, in March 2011, a Translation Slam has been held in Penn State University. Among the beautiful classics of Ukrainian poetry Iryna Shuvalova’s poem ‘Tilo’ (The Body) has been read (although not by the author) both in Ukrainian and in English translation (starting with 09:25).
